Oh my gosh. I have been wanting to knit this little gem of a pattern for a really long time now. The first one I knit was for Simonne's Halloween costume. And then, I haven't stopped knitting them since. They are just so adorable and perfect for little heads. They stay on, they cover everything (without being annoying and falling over the eyes) and they just look so stinking cute on wee little heads. Of course, the vintage style appeals to me.
Simonne hasn't taken off her Pilot Cap that I transformed into a Kimba the White Lion hat since I finished it. She really loves it. And, Vaughn has been wearing his gray one which is a pretty big deal for him since he is not a 'hat guy'. If you are a knitter, I can't say enough wonderful things about this pattern, it's fun to knit, genius in it's construction, uses worsted weight yarn, and is relatively quick. It's a great stash buster and I am all about that right now.
So I have a modest pile of wee, sweet, hand knit pilot caps that is growing by little bits each day. The pattern is licensed so that I can sell some hats that I create. Guess what? I just put a few in the shop! If you don't knit or don't have the time to knit these really make a great gift for the littles in your life. If you are interested in a hat in a certain size or color just convo me through Etsy, chances are I can knit you one to order!
I don't think your models could be any cuter than they are! Love the hats! You're such a good mama.

I've been wanting to try that pattern for such a long time. I admit I've been put off by the price of the pattern, but it does look like it is probably worth it:)

Wish I knew how to knit so that I could scale up the pattern and make one of these lovelies for myself! They're so cool!
