Spending the day with Norah Gaughan and Cirilia Rose just on it's very own is a treat beyond belief! Couple that with being immersed in all of the creativity involved in a photo shoot for a knitting booklet and the treat becomes a wild dream come true. Then top it off with all the pampering of make-up and hair and having a professional photographer taking your picture! All the while your house is filled with a wardrobe of outstanding clothes to wear in addition to the awesome hand knits. Every time you turn around there is someone smiling, laughing, cracking a joke or dodging chickens and just loving every minute of their job. It's almost impossible not to feel like you should be waking up from the most amazing dream ever. But, that was our day on Thursday and we are all still floating on a Cloud. Let me tell you.
{Norah and Simonne (top secret outfit)}
Having the Berroco team here yesterday was like welcoming great friends into our home again. We got to work with Chris again, the photographer, who is just so talented and so much fun to work with that he makes it all so easy. John, his assistant, was there again too and we got to meet Ryan as well. Jennie was in charge of all the hair and makeup for the day and I just can't even begin to tell you how magical she is. I am serious. How cool is it too that she's worked with Snoop Dog?! (Is it wrong that I want to kidnap a makeup artist and keep them in my house? I didn't look tired yesterday! Remember, I am a mother to three children. That is magic my friends!)
And then of course there is Norah and Cirilia. At one point I walked into my kitchen and they were both sitting at the table and knitting. Well, my heart just swelled and I felt like the luckiest gal on the planet. Seriously. These two amazing women are just so inspiring, creative and uber-talented that you have have a lot to look forward to this fall! The knits are outstanding. You just wait and see! Oh my. The knits! I am dying to tell you all about them but I am sworn to secrecy until the book comes out! Seriously, I want to knit every. single. one.
The day started at 8:30 and Simonne was the first to model. She has so much fun doing this. There was one knit and outfit in particular that she didn't want to take off because it was so 'comfy'. She adores Cirilia (Simonne says See-Ra) and at the end of the day even had Cirilia paint her tiny little nails for her so they could be matchy-matchy together. (Insert cute picture of Cirilia and Simonne that I didn't take here, woops!)
Writing this post makes me realize how many pictures I didn't take but honestly we were having so much fun in each moment it is hard for me to remove myself, you know. I just really love soaking these photo shoot days in. Last time my dad was here and helped us by 'shooting the shoot' but unfortunately he couldn't make it up this time.
But there were moments that were impossible to let pass. Simonne was fascinated by the makeup again and right away set up just like last time to work her own sort of magic on her baby doll.
I didn't realize it until I started going through the photos we did take yesterday but it seems like we were all under the careful watch of Indy and Hayden the whole day! They are in practically every picture that Greg and I took!
It looks like if Norah ever takes applications for two more assistants, I'll have to submit some on behalf of Indy and Hayden! On a completely unrelated side note, one of my brothers has a fascination with two headed llamas so that top picture should make him pretty happy.
Oh my, my, my. I am honestly still processing the day in my mind. It is just so surreal and yet at the very same time these days are just some of the best ever for our family. I feel amazingly grateful that we have had this opportunity not just once but twice now! We can't believe it actually. Again, I almost won't believe it actually happened until I am holding the book in my hand and even then it is still a dream come true. A great, wonderful, spectacular dream that makes my heart leap each time I think about it, even higher than Chris is leaping in this 'It's a wrap!' shot! :)
Thanks to Norah, Cirilia and the whole crew for making us the happiest family ever, yet again! Amazing!
P.S. As soon as the book is out I'll be sure to post with more details and behind the scenes from our super-amazing-spectacular day! Did I mention that the knits are incredible?
P.S.S More images from the day here!
Yowza! Looks like another fun, wonderful, awesome photo shoot. I'm excited for this one to come out. Our tastes are so similar - so if you want to knit everything, I know there are a couple of must-do's for myself.
You and your family are beautiful! It's about time the rest of the world knew it too :)

Thank you sooo much for sharing all the magic! I love how those curious and intelligent llamas kept crowding in, like they were understudies... now if the designers would just take them into consideration!
