1.) I can't remember the last time my body woke up all on its own.
Since Jorn was born, 7 years and 4 months ago (and actually a bit before since late pregnancy has a way of keeping you up in preparation for a newborn) I haven't gone to bed, slept and then woke up when my body felt sleep had fully quenched the thirst of fatigue. I'm not complaining but it's pretty remarkable if you think about it. That's a long time. It can't be good for you either.
2.) If you surround yourself with lovely things, even your messes will be pretty.
I was busying myself with tidying up our dining room which houses most of the vintage for my shop on it's way to be listed and my only reason in doing so was so that I could use the table. But all of the things in that pile were truly lovely and so they were really fine just being there as is. I like that.
a few weeks ago when the girls were away at the grandparents' matt and i slept a solid 13 hours without moving. our bodies were needing that i guess. the funny thing is even when the girls are away i often can't sleep then either. i still wake up a few times during the night. it's pretty amazing that we parents can function at all with the amount of interrupted sleep we get. sometimes i feel like i am part of some crazy sleep experiment where i get woken up every two hours for weeks on end.

Oh, to feel rested! Can you ask your family for a one night break from the farm duties and early rising to sleep in? Mother's Day is coming up...

Yes, thank you!!! From now on, whenever my boyfriend complains about the mess that somehow seems to follow me wherever I go, and says: "Look at that mess!", I will nod and smile and say "Yes, it is quite pretty, thank you very much." Ahhhh great =) And you are so right, it is not as if we surround ourselves with empty beer cans and mouldy food...No, we sit there amongst our pretty and beloved things! And who on earth would call that a mess?
Apart from that: I hope you will get a lot of rest soon and wake up only because your body thinks "Man, enough with the sleeping, I need some action..." =)

My dining room is my "work room" as well, I don't think we ever eat on this table!

1)I love sleeping until I just wake up. Unfortunately that happens very rarely.
2)it all depends on the viewpoint, doesn't it.
3) love your picture!!
