I love happy mail days. Just yesterday I had one too... fibre for spinning, a thank you card from a fiend and not a single bill. Bliss.

Sounds perfect to me! Isn't it the best :)

what are you going to make with the fabric? the nine patch quilt that i am making with the same fabric is ready for another stage. the squares are finished. i need to decide what to put in between as borders. i love the fabric.

also. i just picked up a copy of living craft. there are directions in there to dye yarn with food coloring. i have never dyed yarn before and thought this might be a fun project for me and the girls.

Some of the fabric is on it's way into some old fabric and quilting hoops I found to hang on our living room walls. The rest I just don't know. It's amazing. I want to look at all of it so maybe they'll all end up on the wall :) I can't wait to see your quilt!

Funny b/c I found a book on natural dyeing in a junk shop just after I posted that and it has super easy, clear instructions. I have a lot of black eyed susans and my neighbor will let me have at hers so I am planning on using that for my first try. That or turmeric. Have you thought of turmeric? You are so right about it being a great project for kids too. If the patience stars align it should be fun ;)
