As you can see I have a little bit of 'getting used to' to go with the self timer option on my camera. Ok. Moving right along.
Can we talk about gift knitting? This pattern is perfect for the upcoming holiday season. It's a freebie, it uses worsted weight yarn (doubled), it's a mega stash buster, it's basically fool proof and the results are 'coming home to grandma's house' awesome. Who wouldn't want a cozy pair of hand knit slipper socks? I loved knitting these so much that I have already made another pair. All the detail's for this pair on Ravelry. I guess if you wanted to you could add a bit of suede to the bottom of these to increase their life span and reduce a bit of the slip factor but really they are so wearable just as they are and have a 'walking on clouds' element. To make these for a man you would just have to knit the top section a bit longer and then pick up more stitches for the sole (vice versa for children) but the pattern is really easy to understand and modify once you knit it.
What are your hand made plans for the holidays this year?
