There is a Yellow Room over our garage that houses most of my crafting supplies and all of the antiques and vintage for the shop. It also holds most of my dreams of spending time up there making lovely things. Unfortunately because of the nature of the room it is either bitterly cold up there or unbearably hot most of the year. We do have a heater but it involves quite a bit of planning (turning it on, letting it warm up, agreeing to the propane bill, remembering to shut it off etc.) and most of the time I just can't get it together to make those elements align so that I can spend time up there.
Sadly, through the winter, my vintage finds are typically stored up there in the most disorganized way possible and my crafty goods get grabbed quickly and dragged downstairs for use typically leaving a bit of a mess behind on the way.
But this cooler weather for the past few days has made the Yellow Room perfectly habitable! Simonne and I have been venturing up there while Vaughn is napping. We tidied up the room in a surprisingly short amount of time and in doing so found an antique child's tea set that I had bought months ago and forgotten about! I have two sets actually, one is bound for the shop eventually. Both sets are amazingly darling. Simonne adores this particular set so it will likely be the one that stays with us. She played for a long while which allowed me to get quite a bit more done. I have SO many vintage lovelies that need new homes! Going through them was like discovering old friends. That is what I love so much about handling 'old stuff'. They come with so much character already built in.
Anyhow, Vaughn is sleeping right now and the thermostat is still in our favor so I better get back to it!
