Earth hour was so fun! Why isn't this a monthly event? I think it should be. Or at least it should be done more often than once a year. We're going to make it so in our household.
Oh, how I wish I could send you all some eggs so you could try them. That omelet was the best one I have ever had. I am not kidding. Even though we've been keeping chickens for about three years now, this one was the best. Inside were fresh herbs (dill and thyme) and sour cream. Hungry yet?
And I have been doing some serious spring cleaning. I haven't mentioned it here because who wants to talk about cleaning, but each day for the past two weeks I have thoroughly cleaned one room or area. I would say it takes me about two-three hours for each room and that includes everything, sorting clothes, toys, books, really dusting, linen closet etc. Now, my whole house is clean! It didn't feel as overwhelming doing it this way and it was pretty fun actually. However, Jorn's room was the exception. Just use your imagination and you'll understand why it would take me much longer to clean a 7 year old boy's room (tiny lego! argh!) But, I also ended up painting his room on a whim with some paint we had in the basement that had never been used. He likes it. I like it. We are happy.
As each room was organized I made sure the donation and consignment piles went straight to the car! Otherwise the bags sit in the garage forever but having them in the car forced me to bring them or I wouldn't have room for the carpool kids in the afternoon. I had to make several trips to the Goodwill and I have to make another tomorrow but the burden of 'stuff' in our house is much lighter.
I also spent some time organizing my Etsy shop and realized it is that time of the year! Last year I had a Spring Cleaning Sale it is was lots of fun so I thought I'd do it again! So, everything in the shop is 50% off for my once a year sale! There are lots of vintage treasures over there and I'll be adding a few more each day! Hop on over and take a peak.
